Objectives and Program Learning Outcomes:
(1) Students will be able to apply concepts of social justice across a diverse range of contexts including different historical periods, geographical regions, cultural environments, and human institutions and interactions.
(2) Students will be able to apply a broad range of interdisciplinary theories and perspectives to current events to critically assess the application of social justice.
(3) Students will be able to identify and analyze the expression of social justice in their own lives and in the world around them using diverse methodologies and critical paradigms.
These objectives are adapted from the overall PSLOs for the Human Services major (the ones currently part of the sub-plan this minor is a substitution for), but with substantial revision to reflect specifically the importance of social justice. Students are required to complete courses in at least two distinct disciplines and can take courses from up to five disciplines to comply with the requirements for the minor. These PSLOs reflect the importance of understanding social
justice from multiple disciplines and being able to apply those disciplinary values to social justice questions.
