Completion requirement
The portfolio is a collection of work charting your intellectual progress through the courses from your Medieval and Ancient Studies Major. You will gather syllabi, papers, and exams, including work completed abroad, in a three-ring binder or in an online format. You will write a cover letter to the portfolio, addressing each section of your major: language, core courses, lower-level electives, and upper-level electives. Students will present their portfolio prior to taking the capstone.
Completion requirement
Consult with one of the Medieval and Ancient Studies faculty to choose this course; it may be in any discipline as long as it is in accordance with the approval from the Medieval and Ancient Studies faculty. Students must have completed at least 10 credits of upper level coursework in the major before starting their capstone project.
Completion requirement

Courses used to meet the 20 credit elective requirement are exclusive of any used to complete the required courses. No more than four credits of an x993 course (directed study) will be accepted toward the major. Instructors of courses requiring prerequisites within a discipline may admit students who have taken a similar level course in a comparable discipline.
