Program description
The Addiction Studies minor provides students with an understanding of substance use and addiction through a bio-psycho-sociocultural framework. Students in any major will find this minor applicable to a wide range of careers and interests, including human services, psychology, medicine, nursing, policy, legal studies, education, advocacy, criminal justice, neuroscience, public health, and many others. Note: The Addiction Studies minor satisfies only the coursework required to qualify for the Minnesota Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) credential.
Completion of this minor DOES NOT lead to licensure on its own. Students who wish to pursue LADC licensure must also complete Psy 4501 and Psy 4502, specific practicum requirements, through the Pre-LADC program.
