Course description

Descriptive statistics, types of probability, laws of probability, random variables, discrete and continuous probability models, functions of random variables, expectation. Bayesian and frequentist statistical inference; point estimation, interval estimation, tests of hypotheses. Other statistical methods; linear regression and correlation, ANOVA, nonparametric statistics, use of statistical computer packages.

prereq: Math 1101 or Math 1021
